Robert E. Aitken trained at the University of Otago and graduated in 1968. He has been involved over the years with The College of GP's as Canterbury Chairman, a Council Member and Examiner. He has also been involved with the NZ Medical Association and has served as president of the Canterbury Division of the Association.

Robert Aitken has worked as medical director and abortionist at Lyndhurst Hospital abortion business.
In 1973 Robert Aitken moved to Halswell, Christchurch and helped set up the Halswell Health Medical Centre.
Genea Oxford Women's Health
In early 2014, Robert Aitken attended the opening of Genea Oxford Women's Health, a fertility clinic situated in the Forté Health facility. Also in attendance were two of his colleagues at Halswell Health, Dr. Clare Healy and Dr. Vicky Quin.
Co-Authored Article on Therapeutic Abortion
In 1994, Diana Edwards, Robert Aitken, Alison F. Begg, Pippa Mackay and Robin M. Marchant co-authored an article entitled "Predilatation of the Cervix Before Suction Curettage for Therapeutic Abortion in Early Pregnancy" in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Their listed affiliation was Lyndhurst Hospital.
As at Dec. 2000, Robert Aitken was a Certifying Consultant in Christchurch. Certifying consultants have the job of approving or disapproving a mother being permitted to have her pre-born child killed by abortion.
