Ending Abortion in Texas

We are a group of concerned citizens who want to end the culture of death and make unconditional respect for human life the foundation of a renewed society via two means: grassroots political training and public witness/activism.

In our grass-roots trainings, we will train thousands of people to become their own lobbysts in order to influence their elected officials. Imagine thousands of people in every district pressuring their elected officials to pass pro-life bills, with the threat of losing office if they do not. Imagine thousand of grass-roots activists descending upon Austin every day of the session demanding passage of pro-life bills. Politicians cannot ignore grass-roots pressure and our trainings will ensure that more pro-life people are applying that pressure. This is not meant to replace efforts at lobbying and advocacy already taking place, but rather to infuse that system with an influx of citizens who rightly understand that without the right to life, all other rights sink to insignificance.

In our public witness/activism efforts, we will will host public witness and protest events at strategic times and places designed to raise awareness, cause the media to notice and to create that tension by which our political efforts will have the most muscle. By using non-violent, direct action, we seek to "create such a crisis and foster such a tension that a community which has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue. It seeks so to dramatize the issue that it can no longer be ignored.” (Martin Luther King, Letter from a Birmingham jail)

Is all of this possible? Absolutely. Being pro-life is the "new normal" and public opinion has shifted radically in favor of the pro-life movement.

The Texas Pro-Life Action Team is a non-profit, 501 C-3 organization based in Dallas, Texas.
